Nice restaurant by the river. We got the Asian nachos, crab dip, and chicken apple flat bread. I love love love their pita bread/chip that came with the dip. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The dip was also super creamy and delicious. The Asian nachos were bomb too, love the sauce that came with it. Service was quick and friendly. I would come back here for their pita chips if I ever visited Florida again!!

This is a great spot on the river; excellent views of traffic passing by on the river and handy to the water taxi. We were there on a weeknight and the whole area was completely empty so I can't speak to crowded weekends. The outside seating was great though; covered with a good view, and lots of decor to keep you busy if the scene doesn't have much going on. The service was pretty attentive; our waitress was still working on her English, but she was very friendly and almost overly-deferent. The food was not nearly as good as the Pompano location, but it wasn't bad. A place to take out-of-town friends/family but not a culinary destination.

After a visit to the NSU Museum of Art on a Sunday, a friend and I walked over to the Riverfront area looking for a place to eat. We happened upon Briny and decided to give it a shot. It's a campy indoor/outdoor restaurant/pub/bar. There was plenty of outdoor seating and the weather was nice so we enjoyed sitting outdoors and watching boats go by. We had calamari as an appetizer and it was lightly fried and served with pickled veggies and jalepenos. We thought the dish was tasty. Entree prices are in the $10/$20 range and we had the fried shrimp platter and the salmon dinner. The shrimp were fried a bit too hard for my taste. My friend thought the salmon was prepared just right. Drink prices were in the $7/$10 range for vodka tonic and bottles of Frexenet. The host and wait staff were friendly and attentive. We would return for lunch or just drinks outside on a nice day.

The best part about Briny is that it's riverside. What better way to spend a lunchtime or grab a bite to eat than on the waterfront in South Florida, after all, that's what people spend hundreds of dollars to come here on vacation to do. It's idylic Briny gives you all of that which you dream about in an active riverside surrounding with it's nautical themed decor and outdoor seating and boats moving along the river, everything to give you that lazy hazy I don't want to go back to work feeling. The food is mediocre however. A group of us came here for lunch one day and ordered a myriad of food. A burger, a veggie sandwich, a flatbread, a shrimp skewer dish with a side of Cesar salad. The burger had to be sent back because it was ordered well done and came back dripping blood, the flatbread was overly cheesed and while the veggie sandwich was tasty, the portobello was the flattest skinniest mushroom I've ever come across. We had ordered a couple of ciders to go with our meal and had to send them back. One person called it skunky, I prefer to say that it was uncarbonated. The Stella's we ordered instead were great. I will come back, but will order differently to see if the food is different. Maybe we caught them on a bad day.

A primo spot to watch the Winterfest Boast parade! Its really nice to sit back and watch the parade while enjoying a nice cold beverage! Really fairly priced and a neat environment.

We stopped in here on a Friday afternoon to kill some time before our riverboat cruise left. We chose to sit at the outside bar. The bar tender informed us that there wouldn't be any drink specials until happy hour, and we all placed our drink orders. The drinks were pretty small for the price, but I guess with the waterfront location I should expect higher prices. I found the bartender to be ok, but not overly friendly. One thing that bothered me a little were the number of fruit flies as the outside bar. I get it. It's South Florida, it's hot, and with sugary drinks around it's bound to happen, but I can't help but think they could keep it under control a little bit better as it made question the overall cleanliness of everything. Getting off the cruise, as I had been avoiding using the boat port a potty bathroom, I reasoned that since I had paid (a good amount) for drinks here earlier I was allowed to use their bathroom here. When I came out I found my friend sitting at the inside bar with a glass of wine waiting for me...happy hour had begun and they were half price. We enjoyed a few more drinks and a few bar snacks inside. I found the bartender inside to be friendlier and the atmosphere to be much more clean. For food we did a plate of onion rings and a plate of calamari. Both were pretty much standard fried bar food, but it helped to soak up the drinks.

Location right on the River Walk is great. We went on a Tuesday night on a hot August day and sat outside anyway for the view. I had NY Sirloin which was good (not great) and the wife had pan seared scallops that were not seared. I don't understand how you can send out a plate called pan seared scallops and not actually have a sear on the scallops. My wife said they were pretty good regardless. Service was good. I would go back especially for the location.

Nothing great, nothin bad about the place. Average drink prices, average crowd for the majority of the time, I've been here about 10 times and I've never felt moved or amazed by place. . Grab a drink and check it out

I can't believe this place only had 3 stars!! My corned beef and Swiss was fabulous! My husband mahi mahi sandwich was a thick piece of yumminess!! Molly is a sweet and wonderful server!!

This is my first time here at Brineys Irish pub. The place has a great menu and the food is fantastic. I ordered the Shepards pie and my buddy had a fish dish both dishes were made to order and was a great presentation and fresh. I would recommend Brineys Irish Pub to anyone looking for a great meal. The prices are about average. They have live music on the weekends. The business is right off the river way and also has outdoor seating.

My friends and I were in the area and stopped in at the bar for some drinks to kill time. The bartender was friendly and the drinks were pretty good. In the outdoor patio area there is a bar, high top tables, and some regular tables. The atmosphere of the bar is fun. Lots of nautical decorations all around and it is nice to be right by the water. The food that others around were ordering looked pretty good, mostly fried bar food kind of stuff.

I had the opportunity to dine at brineys this evening. I dont think i ever had a worse time than this ev evening. A party of six. Draft beer was warm, Sheppard s pie was too salty chicken fingers, tasted like they were frozen and the chocolate lava, cake tasted like it was store bought. I sent it back and asked to have it taken iff the bill the waitress said she couldnt. I asked to speek to the manager and was told there was no manager. After arguing with one of the waiters he finally took it off t he bill. Rats were running around outside. Talked to a bartender there and he told me there was an owner and staff no management. I would not recommend this place. Word of advice to the owner. Hire a management staff. If i could give it a half star i would.
(1)
Scott E.
I gave this place 2 chances absolutely horrible. The servers are great but there are no management on site at all which is a first. Had the chicken fingers tonight I think they came from the dollar tree in the frozen compartment terrible. Had the chocolate lava cake for dessert and it was store bought not fresh and a disaster. Took the desert off the bill and told the make belief manager we would not be back. How this place is in business blows my mind after all anytime you go buy its empty. What a shame its right on the water and have such herrific service and low quality food. I only gave it 1 star because zero wasn't an option. Also witnessed a rat run buy our area and there are cages everywhere.

On the water. Has the feel of a local pub with a nautical theme. Waitstaff can be rather apathetic as evidenced by a bartender who made it clear he was doing us a favor by offering to refill our drinks. Food is typical. Fair size servings. We were there for lunch. No live music but it was set up for party night. Bathrooms could use a mop.

The Mexican paella is fantastic. There is also live music in the evenings and a full bar.

I must say that after my first visit to this place I am a little disappointing. I've been living is South Florida for 2 years now, and I have walked by this place multiple times, specially during the different events that are held in downtown Ft Lauderdale, but I had never walked into this place. My husband and I went with a couple of friends and had a good time. The drinks were different but good, and the service was fast. But I am basing this review entirely on their menu. My husband and I ordered wings and a chicken sandwich which were pretty tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary. As soon as I walked in the restaurant I was excited that I was going to eat some Irish delicacy, but when I opened the menu and only saw three Irish dishes I was very disappointed. They have a lot of options to choose from, but none of them are what I expected from a renowned Irish restaurant. As I said earlier, the service was good, friendly and fast, and their drinks were yummy, but if you were to ask me if I am going back to eat, I would have to pass. I hope they update their menu soon!

I enjoy coming to this spot for both food and drinking. Prices are reasonable for the location and the food you get. I'm not crazy for their dishes compared to some of the other food you can get around here, but I haven't been disappointed and that's important for a restaurant. Staff has always been friendly, even giving me water when I bike by. Don't expect an amazing seafood meal, this is bar like food with a little extra love. Give it a try.

We ended up here via water taxi because a storm cloud was raining from above and this would hopefully be a good place to take refuge for it to blow by. Since this was a touristy waterfront locale, we did not expect a whole lot. I'm a big fan of fish and chips, and tend to try that at every British pub I go to. There's one in particular that is the best I've had in the states. So far I've yet to find anywhere that compares, but Briny Pub comes the closest. First off, the portion is huge. They served it with two pieces of deliciously fresh, fried fish over a plateful of chips. I ended up eating all of the fish and some of the chips just because there was too much. It's also served with coleslaw and a tasty tartar sauce. It was delectable. And of course they had fantastic beer that they served in pints. One other important detail -- the price was like most pubs you'll find elsewhere and not super inflated like other restaurants on Los Olas Blvd. Our stomachs and wallets equally appreciated it, and it was one of the best pub stops we've been to. We will come back next time we're in town.

The only really saving grace this place has is its location on the river. The food is mediocre at best. The drinks are what you would find at any sports bar type place. I did see they were going to be revamping their menu which is much needed. It's the only thing that still surviving in the riverfront area and has been there for years. Hopefully they bring in some craft brews and some better menu items, but until then there are better places on the river to eat/drink.

The live music is so incredibly loud it's impossible to hold a conversation and the people who are at the bar seem like they have been here since opening so the screaming is just as crazy. The bacon wrapped shrimp as an appetizer over an abundance of corn is something you should pass on . I ordered the steak sandwich lets see how this simple dish comes out. Another place to avoid at all costs.

We needed a quick supper near the water taxi. One of the captains recommended this place which is next to stop 1 and wow I'm so glad he did. All of the food was very freshly prepared an served hot. The service was amazing and friendly. This place is a hidden gem. Be sure to check it out.

Pulled up the boat on Sunday afternoon to watch the Dolphins game. The place was busy but not too packed. Got seated right away outside and received service immediately. We got the BLT and Caesar salad with chicken. Our food came out really quick and the service was excellent. Overall it's a nice place to watch a game or hang out for a casual dining experience. There isn't a lot of boat parking though...

Every time we go by this restaurant on the boat, I wonder what this restaurant would be like. Now, I will never have to again. My sister and I ordered the buffalo chicken tenders, the calamari, and the fish and chips. Everything was just ok. It tastes like everything was store bought. I would suggest skipping it. Our waitress brought the check about five minutes after bringing us our food.

Great atmosphere and even better food! Few tables and lots of bar space, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're part of a large group. As such, we didn't wait long for a table. The service was less than perfect, especially because our waitress was a bit of a dimwit. The fried shrimp were delicious and everything was very decently priced!

Stopped in at 11am on a Saturday for a margarita. The waitress was well attentive to our needs. The drink was tasty, but needed more tequila. It is $9 for a patron margarita on the rocks. There is a lot of outside seating with a view of the river. Great decorations to checkout on the ceiling. My friends had the cheese fries, which were skimpy on the cheese. This place is great to hang out with friends with a nice view. Food is nothing spectacular.

Took a water taxi and there they were. I was super hungry so I walked in. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not many vegetarian options. The salad had candied pecans that were super delish. Yummy. We ordered a pitcher of homemade Sangria and then of course, another. We were not driving so who cares. Had a fun time and was not rushed at all by the staff.

This is a really neat place that I would have never found on my own because its really well hidden deep in river front. They have a great view of the water being that they're located right on the intercoastal. I tried the fish dip and chicken parmesan which were both excellent. If you are into live music they have a band every weekend that plays really great music. Seriously, they're really talented musicians. The outside seating area is decked out with tons of cool decorations all themed to give it a tropical vacation paradise type of look. It's definitely a great place to consider for your Friday night happy hour or for any day of the week.

Not sure why this place has so many poor reviews. We wandered in as we were visiting the area and walking around. Typically, I use Yelp before I enter but we were short on time. Our waitress was excellent. She was helpful, attentive and made our experience even better on a sunny day. Drinks were refilled and our wobbly table was bolstered appropriately. The fish and chips were great. Moist, flaky and a generous portion. I had the blackened mahi sandwich and it was delicious. A big piece, served with some fancy tartar sauce. My review may be higher because I was surprised by my experience. But, if you are in the area and looking for affordable and very good fish dishes, check it out. Much better than the 2.5 stars it is currently rated.

The place looks cool and since its few blocks from my house I decided to go w my girl and daughter, however service was bad from the moment we walked in, a bunch of waiters walked by us and don't even ask if we need it a high chair. After this guys that looks like a busboy was nice enough to get us the high chair and the menus a waitress with a side of her head shaved showed up. She was terrible as a server took forever to get our order and basically we had to go get the check from someone else. It seems like a cool place to hang out but service it's pretty bad I doubt I'll be back!!!

This was the kickoff location for a night that I'll never forget. Tucked away behind/beside a bridge near St. Andrews is this GEM in Broward. Great beers on tap, friendly crowd and regulars that bring very cuddly friendly dogs to hang out while they drink...this place has it all. Note: the saturday afternoon/night I visited the crowd was noticeably older than most of the other Las Olas bars. Personally, I prefer a more mature (27+) crowd but if thats not your thing...you may want to start here and end somewhere else. Want a life band? They've got that too! Its a beautiful day, want to enjoy the weather? They have a spacious outdoor seating area as well as a roomy indoor area for the Summer days in South FL where experience a 15 minute monsoon. I am a huge fan of Briny Riverfront and its bartenders. I can get comfortable here and make THIS my regular go to.

Great lunch. The Reuben was fantastic! For 10$ comes with fries and slaw pickle. Same goes for BLT, only 7$. . Service was great! Beer was cold. There was a pretty talented guy playing guitar and singing. A great place to have lunch when getting off the WaterTaxi.

My steak was good. The waiter didn't know how the house cooked a medium steak or a medium rare steak so I took a shot in the dark and ordered medium rare. It arrived a perfect medium (lots of pink, no red). Pretty standard selection of beer on tap. It's nice to sit on the patio and watch the boats but... You can smoke on the patio. And nothing makes your beer taste worse than inhaling someone's secondhand smoke while you take a swig. Apparently it's 1983 down here in Florida. That said, my steak was pretty good.

We decided to come here to watch our UCF Knights play Louisville because we knew the bar will be just for us because its always empty... Our bartender was really nice and approached us as soon as we sat down. We ordered beers, Chicken Quesadillas and Buffalo Chicken Tenders. We had a TV for ourselves and it was perfect. The Quesadilla was sooo good, I couldn't believe it at first but it was real. They had a lot of flavor and were just delicious. The Chicken tenders were good too. We watched the entire game there and our bartender was always there when we needed him. We had a great win, time and meal. No complains here. We have been here a few times before and it has always been a good time.

Good service, but mediocre everything else. It's right on the riverfront, but the area around it is desolate. Not worth getting off the water taxi for.

Had fun here for mid afternoon Mother Day's lunch. Really a cool nautical setting right on the New River. Get to watch everthing from kayaks to mega yachts go buy while enjoying live music and eating decent food. I had a griled red snapper sandwich which was delicious. No complaints from the 5 other diners. Scott Avery was playing acoustical guitar and was able to handle most requests. He is really talented.Seemed like a lot of regulars were there. Really nice place to spend a Sunday afternoon.

We decided to try someplace different for lunch today and after looking on Yelp decided on this place. It was the perfect day to sit outside. As some people have stated it is definitely a tourist spot, with the water taxi's making several stops. I have to say it's sad to see this area so abandoned. It used to have a lot going on and hopefully things will turn around. With that being said the food was great, we both had Ruben's and the corned beef was extremely tender, no fat at all. There was a little hiccup with the drink order, I asked if they served Raspberry tea and the server said no just regular tea, when I said ok , she brought me hot tea??? Oh well it was ok and not a big deal. I would definitely go back again

Great pet-friendly crowd, awful food We watch football here every Sunday. I have an issue with sitting in a dark bar at 1pm on a Sunday and our NY team's never play at home, so this outside and airy atmosphere is my boyfriend and mine's compromise. On Sundays it is great. There is a big crowd of nice people and we always end up making friends or at least have camaraderie over the football games. The outside bartender is the best making the atmosphere even better. Briny's is super dog friendly even promoting pet happy hour with discounts on occasion. Outside of Sundays, I would never go here. The food is terrible. I never thought you could foul up bar food so badly, but they have. The decor is insane with random chotchkies everywhere. View is spectacular with the boats going by, but that's really it's only plus. Riverfront is now basically desolate so there aren't many other choices in the vicinity. I'd take the walk down across the train tracks to Tarpon or the bridge to the Downtowner, if I was looking for bar food. .

We stopped here for lunch because it was on the water and it was an Irish pub. Because it was on the water and in front of a water taxi stop, I had low expectations for the food but I was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was friendly and our food arrived quickly. She accidentally brought a Jameson sour apple drink instead of Jameson on the rocks (her English wasn't that great). The fish sandwiches were good with large pieces of fish that were well prepared. The deep-fried shrimp and fries were good.

Some co-workers and I went here for lunch. Everyone was moderately happy with their meals, nothing special or something you have to go back for. I ordered the fish and chips, which were HUGE portions. I'm pretty sure that they served me a two filets. Unfortunetly the fish and chips were really greasy and the fish was plated on the fries, which made the fries soggy. I might go back and try something else since I had the least appetizing dish.

First things first. THE best Irish pub in S. Fla is the Irish Times in S. Miami. Period. Second - this place gets an extra star for being on the Riverfront (and way closer to my house.) Ok- disclaimers out of the way. Came here with a large crowd to bid farewell to a work pal who was laid off. Instead of moping - he's hopping in his car and taking a trip cross country. Making lemonade out of his big box-o-lemons. Gotta luv it. The Briny is kind of like that too. It's not all that- but with a bunch of friends and a good attitude- good times, good times. (e.g., after a late night here, I can't feel my tongue.) There is a mixed crowd here, so anyone can come and have fun. Riding the water taxi and stopping here is a great thing to do with visitors looking to numb their tongues. And the place is big enough - a patio area with tables on the river to eat and drink, a bar way inside to watch a game or have a good chat in a quieter space. And then there is the bar in the middle where most people hang. It's loud, though. They had a one-man-band guy with a magical keyboard singing cheesy covers. He sounded better after our third round of Guinness. Food? It's pub food. The fries were good. Decent burgers too. Everything tastes better after 10pm... So bring your lemons to the Briny and make some lemonade with your friends. Good times (not Irish Times) but for Ft. Laud. - good enough.

Sat quickly. Beers came fast. Undercooked fish and chips...the fish anyways. Pink and mushy. Was very nice to the waitress and explained this saying we didn't want a replacement. Lord knows what they do to the food. Ever see the movie waiting?? She came back stating the cook says the fish is always pink. I have never has pink cod! Nor a non flaky fish n chip. My husband warned me of the yelp reviews and I told him to form his own opinion! Whoops. Won't be back.

Ate here with my wife in October 2013. Basic food of acceptable quality, with decent pricing. Service was good. Lots of large TV screens outside; several different football games were being shown the day we ate there. Musician of so-so quality played there towards the end of our meal; I found his singing irritating. Restaurant is along the Riverwalk in Ft. Lauderdale. We ate at one of the many outside tables and enjoyed watching the boats go by along the river.

The best thing about this place is the location and the outdoor seating/bar. It's right on the New River and a fun place to sit outside and see the many boats/yachts go by. We went there on a Tuesday night around 7ish and although they weren't busy, the service was slow, although the staff was quite friendly. Took about 5 minutes before anyone took our drink order, then another 5 to get 2 draft beers. We ordered Calamari for our starter and it was good. Had the fish and chips for our meal, and I will say the portions were HUGE. 2 nice big filets of cod. The fries were good. The fish was not bad but I've had better. Overall it wasn't a bad experience but it won't be my first choice for eating out in this area.

Patient #3: Briny's I am breaking client confidentiality with Briny Riverfront Irish Pub and quite frankly I do not care because it is imperative I explain their putrid existence of a place. Briny's came to America to live the American dream. It found its big break when it found a good spot next to the water within Las Olas Riverfront. Briny was ecstatic to have opened its doors and realized its American dream. In my first meeting with Briny, I knew he was truly a complete mess from his beloved Ireland. All it took was one look to tell, Briny was suffering from Schizophrenia. The first symptom that became apparent was Briny suffered from a decline in proper cognitive ability. All his disorganized thoughts were placed around the patio in the form of crazy unrelated decorations. Makes one wonder what he was thinking. The second symptom Briny displayed was negative thoughts and actions in the form of poor social functioning. The server only appeared twice: once to take our orders and another time because she got lost on the way to the bathroom and just happened to pass our table. Lastly, Briny had positive flashes by exhibiting delusions of grandeur. It thought it could make good food, but in reality it was awful. The wraps were bland, the cheese fries looked like they were sitting in the window on display before they served it to us. Their crowning achievement was pulling out some mozzarella sticks from the box and warming those up. They must be delusional to think their food was good. Further, they made the worst virgin pina colada in the history of mankind. Another disorder it suffered from was Dissociative Identity Disorder. Me: "Briny are you Irish or English right now?" Briny: "English." Me: "But it says Irish in the name." Briny: "I am fuking English mate, I am done, going to the lew." Me: "That would explain why there is Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips, and no Irish food on the menu FINAL EVALUATION: Stay away from Briny. It is completely unstable, awful of a place, but if you are lured by the Irish name then just buy one Guiness and hope there is live music. Its Dissociative Identity Disorder and Schizophrenia is alarming and consider yourself warned.

Come here for drinks and the view. Seriously, that's it. Don't order the mozzarella sticks thinking their a safe option (pssst... they're not) but they make a mean Mojito.

At first glance this place looks like a tourist trap right on the Las Olas boardwalk.. but after having dinner here the other night I realized it wasn't that bad. I was going to catch a show at the Broward Center so my friends decided to get a quick bite here before hand. I ordered the fish & chips and I was very impressed. Two big pieces of fish with lots of fries. The fish was delicious and it didn't have a lot of breading which was perfect. Another friend ordered a salad and he too enjoyed it. There was also a live band playing while we had dinner -- we fortunately sat on the other side :) So if you are ever in the area and need to grab a quick bite check out this "tourist" spot.

Not a bad joint. A bit noisy with average food but for a beer and bite on the river, it's cool. Descent beer selection but didn't have Due South beer which is our favorite. It's brewed right here in South Florida so it's ridiculous that they don't carry it. Will move this up to four stars if they support locals.

It could be that I'm just really partial to dive bars on the water, but I just did not understand all the horrible reviews for Briny Pub. I mean, I didn't absolutely love this place by any means, but it definitely was not bad either. The main disappointment of my quick lunch hour stop was the watered down mojito I ordered with a very minuscule amount of booze in it. I was hoping to walk back to work with a little TGIF buzz to wrap up a crazy work week, but sadly that didn't happen. After an extensive investigation of their menu and ogling all the nautical/pirate stuff adorning the walls and ceiling, I ordered the blackened fish sandwich. I was able to choose from Snapper, Wahoo or Mahi. Being a good girl on a selectively strict diet, I opted for the mixed veggies instead of the fries. The portion of Snapper was absolutely huge and seasoned well. The veggies were probably of the grocery store freezer section variety, but they cooked them to perfection and I ate every last one on the plate. The server who helped us was awesome; very quick, attentive and even provided my co-worker with a shot glass full of cherries when the bartender forgot the garnish on her apple martini (without even asking for it). The location can't be beat - right near the park on E. Las Olas riverfront. We enjoyed the briny breeze while waving to rich people on their yachts as they passed by causing the draw bridge to go up and hold up traffic. I would definitely give Briny Pub another shot - maybe for a waterfront happy hour next time.

Was here for the late night scene (so I can't comment on the dining) and a couple things set this place apart for us: #1. AIR CONDITIONING, strong cool air blowing! #2. The cover band was really good, the guitarist blew us away with his livin' on a prayer solo #3. The bartender who served us drinks was pretty nice and took a moment to clean off the bar top for me when I sat down.

Remember the movie SUMMER RENTAL and the floating fish restaurant "The Barnacle"? That's what I was reminded of when I walked into this place last Saturday. Me and my buddy sat under the crazily decorated ceiling, hung with all kinds of mix-matched cast-offs from the prop department for TREASURE ISLAND and PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN. We ordered beers, drank Newcastles and Magners, and watched football while watching the yachts of billionaires glide by - a good time, I'll say. A gastronomical adventure worthy of a Michelin star? Absolutely not.

We loved the location of Briny's and the interior of the bar. We chose to sit at the bar and Katelyn waited on us. What started as a cool down break turned into a couple of hours! The prices were unbelivable and the service was second to none! Katelyn was very attentive and made our visit! We are planning on going back when we return from vacation. Thank you Katelyn for the great time!

Went here since this seemed to be the only open restaurant in this part of the Riverfront. Listless wait staff and manager. Mediocre food. Nuff said. Next!

The best thing about this place (by far) is it's location. It's situated right on the intercoastal in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale with a large outdoor patio looking over the water. Other than that, the food here is not that good, the bartenders are not that friendly, the interior is sad and depressing, and the band they sometimes have on the outdoor patio is always WAY too loud.

After coming from a packed Himmarshee I was looking for something more low key to just grab a drink and chill for a bit after flying all day. Briny's was the answer. That night a band called The Rejects were playing and they did a fantastic job as a cover band. Drinks were pretty cheap, $5 or so and the bartenders quick and friendly. The crowd gave off a good vibe and those sitting at the bar were pretty funny.

Really dig the setting of this place. Man, the more I think about FLL, the more I miss it. After going to several places in MIA/FLL, I wish I found this place sooner. Cool decorations in this place, and nice view of the rvier.

Terrible service, was the worst , food undercooked, we counted the people that walked out, waitresses were fighting with the cooks they were busing tables touching already eaten plate and cups and then straight to get other peoples food HORRIBLE is an understatement , i will never go to this place EVER again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.....

If I ever crave fish and chips I come here. Is the only thing I order, but my friend ordered a raw tuna dish that was great.

I can't give you a full review due to the fact, we left before our order was taken. Random adventure in downtown lead us to river front then to this tourist trap of a restaurant. The place was pretty busy and no one helped us find a seat. A bus boy ended up giving us menus which is pretty half ass service if you ask me. Then menu was pretty BLAH, with nothing special on it. When our waitress finally came to take a drink order, her English was horrible and she barely understood what we said. When we ordered spinach dip, guess what?! they were out. LAME. After closely reviewing the menu more we decided this place was a joke and so was the service. It takes a lot for me to walk out of place before trying it. I think the fact that this place is even called a "Pub" is a joke in itself. I'm very glad I saved the 30$ and went somewhere else.

This was not a planned trip. We were leaving the movies and walking along the Las Olas riverfront when we saw the Briney Riverfront Pub and figured we would give it a try. There are times when a restaurant owner decides on a name prior to deciding on the cuisine. This is one of those times as this is more of an American Sports Bar than an Irish Pub. There are indeed Irish-themed items on the menu, but it is obvious that these three items were added as an after-thought in order to support the word "Irish" in the restaurant's name. A more befitting word is "Briny" as the restaurant has a rather Disney-esque, pirate/seafarer theme. The main food here is basic bar appetizers and steak and seafood entrees. For our meal, we had the following items: Clam chowder Buffalo chicken fingers Blackened mahi mahi We split these items between two people. While the portions were not really large enough for two people, the flavor and quality made both of us quite happy that we did not order any additional food. The clam chowder, while containing numerous clams, had a taste of a canned Campbells soup -- the broth was salty (not seafood salty) and was very weak, while the clams were quite rubbery and flavorless. The buffalo chicken strips were the height of the dinner. The strips were made from white meat and a good crisp coating. They were not dry and the buffalo sauce, even though weak, had a pleasant flavor. The blackened mahi-mahi was not blackened, in fact, it was hardly seasoned. I would not have been offended by the lack of blackening seasoning had the fish actually had some flavor. Unfortunately, the mahi mahi was overcooked and quite flavorless. The baked potato that accompanied the mahi mahi was a waxy potato instead of a starchy potato. It is a big mistake to try and bake a waxy potato as it does not properly fluff nor taste the same; it also doesn't present very well. The coup de grace for this particular bar (not a restaurant) was the addition of a live band. I must be getting older, because it was just annoyingly loud during the worst parts of the songs. Anyone enjoy 1980's themed music? Not the good music, either. If so, this is the place for you! So, on ending, I must say that I will NOT be returning to the Briny Riverfront. The annoying atmosphere and bland food coupled with the price is not very pleasant. If you enjoy loud music while drinking at a bar, this might be the place for you. NOT commensurate! And WHY are there two listings for this restaurant?

A large pub with three or more separate bars serving a decent selection of tap beers and mixed drinks. Outdoor patio adds to a TGIF kind of feel with lots of marine-oriented objects attached to the ceiling. Decent pub food, pretty waitresses, fresh air in the warm weather with random yachts sailing by in the water across the road. Burgers, reubens, fries. Cuisine? Not really, but had a nice afternoon meal before the flight out of FL.

Briney is a Irish style (or at least inspired) bar down by the river by Las Olas Riverfront. The place has some of the touristy tackiness that haunts the Las Olas strip but it is towards the more quiet upper end and pulls in some of the local crowd as well. The decor is quite fun with lots of old boats, kayaks and what not cluttered over the walls and ceiling. There's live entertainment most nights and there's a little stage that most often seems to be the temporary playground of any kids that are around in the pub. Plenty of outdoor seating makes for good people watching at night. The food and beer is good for pub standard and reasonably priced. Not a bad place to hang out, especially if you've got kids, but as a 30-something it feels slightly on the geriatric and tacky side.

The fiance and I really enjoy coming here, largely because it's within walking distance from our apartment and he's Irish-American. It's an American sports bar with an Irish name. Low key place. We like sitting outside along the river, watching a game and having a few beers. We haven't had much to eat here, but what we've had has been your standard decent bar food. No complaints. The live music might get annoying for some, but we can tolerate it. When we've been there, it's been one or two people playing cover tunes. We'll definitely keep coming here.

Let me set the scene. Its Friday night about 8 PM and the drunken masses have yet to ascend upon Riverfront. Our group of about six are looking for the "Palm Grille" who is supposed to have 3-4-1 specials but find out that it no longer exists from the local cruise boat captain. Across the way we hear rock music, a lively outside eating area filled with people, and an open bar facing the waterfront. So by accident and necessity we happen upon the old faithful of all establishments the Irish Pub. When our troop entered there was a live band playing classic rock old standards and the open huge dark wood bar had over twenty draft handles sticking up, both being welcomed sites for sure. Outside sitting was available but it was literally 95 degrees out and the A/C is cranked way up inside. The waitress was on queue with getting us water without the usual pushy indignation that comes from not getting your adult beverages first. The ambiance is set right. Your right on the water way surrounded by multiple 200-300 gallon fish tanks packed with colorful fish and old school Irish picturesque decor set on aged wood. Everything you'd expect in an Irish Bar with a little fish flare to give it uniqueness. Come early for happy hour for $2 pint of the American Beers (apparently Sam Adams is not American at this Bar either) and skip the appetizers if your worried about prices. The apps are $10 just like the entrees. Everything you'd expect is on the menu and then a little more. For example, I had the Tilipia Grilled Blackened Sauteed Sweet Onion Wrap and the Santa Fe Chicken Egg Rolls. The wrap was small (2" X 6") and the plate covered with fries. But it tasted good, no problems in that department. Be careful the "pint" which is supposed to be 12-13 ounces is more like 6-8 oz at the Briny, so be weary and make sure you order two drinks each time if your thirsty. Yes the Briny will make sure to charge you for every piece of cheese, every sauce other than the 1 1/2 oz that comes on the plate, and adds gratuity (don't double tip) for parties over five I assume. Since I had six in my entourage that night. The server was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely tried to make us happy. I would definitely go back and recommend this joint to friends for a quick bite and a beer on the water with live music.

I love the way the place is decorated and that's it's a waterfront bar. We wanted to sit here to see the boat parade. We were told that it was $50 a seat and the earlier you got here the better table you would get. So we got here at 3 and explained to the host why we were here. The drinks were very watered down, my other 3 friends thought so also. At 5, a new waitress came over and said that we had to cash out and start a new tab and by the way, the $50 min was starting over. I had to call a a manager and explain our situation and that we would be ordering dinner at 6 and drinking till 7 or 8 so why not apply what we have already spent. she finally said ok. If you got there at 5 to start their $50 min, you wouldn't get a table. We ended up leaving at that point when we discovered the place next door, Suite 100, with no minimum and great drinks, what a difference. Also, I wish they had told me that you don't really see the parade from here, it's basically a staging area for some of the larger boats. Flew down from Boston to see the parade and missed the whole thing, thanks.

I am not from Ft L, so I don't know how this place compares to other eateries in the area. I loved the place! The food was pretty affordable, running about $10-15 per entree and the kids menu was great. They have fun decor and the place was packed. We had fish & chips that were wonderful - nice and lightly fried - almost like tempura. The ahi appetizer was delish as well. My husband had the italian salad and it was more food than he could finish. We ordered beers, and were impressed by how big they were. It's also a great place to people watch since it's along the riverwalk. If we are ever in this area again, we will most likely go there again. Great food and great service.

New to the Yelp thing and this is my first review. Since I work around the corner I figured I would start local. Briny Riverfront is great for a quick bite with a view. It is situated on the New River and Riverwalk so it's great for watching people and boats/yatchs passing by. Irish fair is okay but there are better pubs/bars close enough by that do it better. Best things on the menu are their burgers and their BLT which is piled high with BACON mmmmm. Service has improved since they opened and is pretty quick. I give it four stars more for the location and ambiance than for the menu.

I came here with friends to watch some college football. The place wasn't completely dead but not exactly bumping. Our waitress was nice and put the game we wanted on, and didn't flip out when we decided we would rather sit at the bar inside. Drinks are reasonably priced. My Absolut and soda was only $7 whereas some places will charge $9. The food wasn't AWFUL like I thought it might be. Perfect bar food. The bartender we had was nice too. Friendly and made good drinks. Love the atmosphere- although not sure how to explain the stickiness everywhere (hmm)....

They have 3 people in the kitchen for a restaurant that easily holds 200+ people - that's a huge problem in a rush. Saturday afternoon in January took over an hour to get a very basic order, 4 out of the 8 orders were incorrect, but since it had taken so long we ate what they gave us. The service was deplorable, there was only one person on the premises that could answer a question (who is our server) and that was the manager who was running around like a chicken without his head. The only way I'd go back there would be for a drink, outside on the Riverfront side (we had to sit inside since they were packed) if the place weren't packed, and I'd only have a drink and perhaps some appetizers.

I really enjoyed this place. My husband and I were in Fort Lauderdale for one night before a cruise, and so we wandered around the downtown area and decided to stop here for dinner. The drinks were good, and the food was really yummy. Prices were pretty average and fair. I loved the location right on the water and the nautical theme and decor. I would recommend this place if you are nearby!

If I was rating this place on food I would probably give it only 2 stars but they redeem themselves with ambiance and location. On a nice day it's a great place to sit outside, enjoy a drink and watch boats passing by on the river. However I wouldn't recommend eating here.

Nice location right on the water. The interior decoration is very good! You will not be bored just sitting and waiting for your order. The place is famous for it's freshly caught local fish. Since its one of the first restaurants on the river, they do have good connections with local fisherman.

Outstanding location. I don't know why so many business at the Riverwalk could not succeed. This one is authentic raw bar with nautical theme. Great atmosphere. Food was just good. Service could have been better.

GROUPON DRIVEN This place is an odd paradox. It is in the Las Olas strip, but around the corner of this abandoned mall. What happened? A 98% vacancy rate? I was expecting to turn the corner and find a dead restaurant, but alas it was alive and thriving. Why? I think thanks to the miracle that is Groupon. THE HOST We entered this nautically-themed restaurant, and I'd say we were fairly impressed with it. The host mumbled and was not able to annunciate words. uggh! After three times of hearing, "ika, bicka, mumble, mumble, ronder, ronder, hmm, hmm," I just took the lead and led HIM to the table we wanted. Okay, it worked. THE WAITRESS Barbie in waiting must have been a church mouse in her first life, because we couldn't hear her very well, and we are not hard of hearing. I asked if she would recommend the mahi mahi or the NY Strip, and she sang the praises of the fish as being fresh caught. My friend opted for the NY Strip. Both came with veggies and a baked potato. The service was friendly, but the staff needs to speak up if they are going to play loud music outside. The waitress apologized because I had to go track her down for some A-1 Steak Sauce. She was sweet about it, and we tipped her on the full pre-Groupon total. THE FOOD Dear lady, the fish was not "fresh caught." How do I know this? Well, when you scale a fish, it is not a perfectly square-formed slab of protein. It was grilled, and it wasn't bad. But it was not what I was expecting, nor indicative of the product for which they wanted to be known. With all that nautical crap abounding, how could this place not serve fresh seafood? My friend's steak looked just okay, but I asked, "what cut of meat is that?" It was a NY strip, but possibly frozen and grilled? It didn't look "Steakhouse-quality." The veggies were, again, okay. a bit undercooked, but that beats the alternative. The baked potato was perfect. I ate it all! THE PRICE We had a Groupon. With the two meals, and iced tea, and subtracting the Groupon, it was a mere $26. WIthout the Groupon, it would have been $51. It was not a Gordon Ramsey kitchen nightmare. We both left satisfied. But it wasn't all it could be either. Would serving fresh-caught seafood make it a landmark? I am not a native of the area, and therefore have no idea. The fact that it was busy in the midst of a dead mall was a tribute to the owner, Groupon crowd or not. Just a question, but with two universities, a museum, the waterfront, and the entire downtown area surrounding, why can't this mall make it? What happened? Does any local know the story behind this place? We have one just like it in Milwaukee--the heart of our downtown, called Grand Avenue, and no one can explain that disaster either. IT IS WHAT IT IS It was no worse than a Longhorn Steakhouse, Outback, Red Lobster, or any other similar chain. THREE STARS for a place that I could take or leave. While I won't wet my pant over the opportunity to return, I wouldn't knock it either. Give it a try, enjoy the view of the water, and accept the place for what it is.

This place is a rip off. It's convenient for boaters to pull up to, grab some liquor/beer, etc... and a bite to eat. But it ain't worth coming down to the waterfront for, if you are traveling by car.

If you are reading this review, please note that it is nothing more than a duplicated of my review of the "Briny Riverfront Pub." Unfortunately, I would assume because of the difference in spelling between "Briny" and "Briney" we've ended up with two different Yelp review sections for exactly the same place. Just goes to show you that in cyberland sh*t can happen and since I have no way of actually correcting it, my best thought is to just go along with it, duplicating my prior review under "Briny" and probably also duplicating the original error of having two Yelp review sites for what is the same place. So here's what I had to say about "Briny" Has a good location along the New River, even though the River Walk is now conceded to have been a poorly planned failure with many of the former business now being blank store and restaurant front. Briny has all kinds on nautical and pirate decorations about and caters to the tourist traffic. As such, the best I can say for it is that it serves tourist food and appears to have few if any repeat customers. That is for good reason as the food and the service are totally lacking in quality, uniqueness, attention to detail, imagination and flavor. Its food is just that, simply everyday food, much as you'd find in any lunch room diner but generally absent the quick, wittiness of the typical diner service people. I found it to be just plain unimaginative blah, but since the blah food was eatable, I gave it a two though in fact it really rates merely a 1+.

Watered down drinks. Bartenders won't ever stop texting and take an order. I have given this place t least 3 chances because I love the decor and location. But just can't bing myself you giving them my money.

It is just what it tries to be ... part sports bar, part tourist spot on the water, part local hangout. It's always got a crowd, but it's well staffed and service is generally good. Ordered the house salad and split some apps and had some beers. The salad was surprisingly good with oranges and crushed pecan pralines. I appreciate the effort to achieve some flavor. The craft beer menu is limited (like 3 choices) but they made good choices including Dale's and Dogfish. Would really like to see them offer some beers brewed right here in FL. Due South Brewing Co. brewed in Boynton would be perfect here.

Way too Loud, but the crowd lured us in. Gotta love all these places being crowded in this economy. Told hubby I felt I was going to Karma on the jersey shore! Lol... Kind of douchey, but I needed to use the bathroom so we stayed a bit. Lots of GTL's from what I saw, lol!!! I didn't see anything Irish about this place...maybe they are changing things to get a larger crowd. Drinks are cheap & the place is cool if you need some good AC after walking Las Olas. No comment on the food, but really I wouldn't eat at these bars anyhow, these bars are here to punish our livers, walk down to the main part of riverfront and eat an empanada or pizza at this lil Argentinian joint, u will thank me....

Cool atmosphere but the good attributes pretty much end there. Good is primarily fried bar food. No brunch menu. Not even the option of coffee. Decent place to grab a drink but you can do better when looking for dining.

The only good thing was the location everything else was bad. when i sat down the table feeled sticky and dirty. also the decor on the ceiling ( varoius sea equitment) looks dirty, raisng the general effect of dirtiness. also the food was bad eg. dry fish that looked like it was cooked twice and disgusting salads.

Two stars for the great location and cool nautical decor.....the place just felt cozy. However, the bartender was completely incompetent. Ordered 2 drinks, a mojito (disgusting, WAY too sweet), and this sour apple jameson drink that was featured on their cocktail menu. Should have known it would be bad when I saw the bartender check the menu to see what was in the jameson drink. He then says "oh, cranberry juice." As he hits the button for cranberry, water comes out. He looks puzzled, and proceeds to check the other squirt thingy....again water. After a quick glance at me (knowing that I was in a hurry to catch the water taxi), he just fills the cup with the water. $10 for a cup of heavily watered down jameson and sour apple pucker. Gross. Oh, and it took about 10 minutes for him to make both drinks. Ugh.

(3)Gina H.

(3)Smith J.

(5)Mike K.

(1)Scott E.
(1)John V.
(2)Rick G.
The Mexican paella is fantastic. There is also live music in the evenings and a full bar.
(5)Vanessa G.

(2)David Z.

Had fun on friday night! Live music is a bit too loud, but really good songs and those guys were very very entertaining! Cheap beer, nice river view, dog friendly, good place for people watching.

(4)Yi L.
(1)Dana M.
(4)Sherry W.
(3)Mar R.
(4)Sergio A.

(4)Adele B.
Staff is really good and very attentive. Food is not great but it is filling and portions are large. Good for the price
(3)Almir O.

(4)laura m.
(4)Matthew S.
(3)Cindy M.
(4)Karen K.
Good service, but mediocre everything else. It's right on the riverfront, but the area around it is desolate. Not worth getting off the water taxi for.
(2)Brian F.
Love their barbecue chicken sandwich. A great piece of chicken pounded thin, no veins or funny stuff
(4)Kyungho L.
Good place to chill out yourself after a river cruise. But I bet there some other cool places to grab a Guinness. But the interior is enjoyable!
(3)Joe M.
(4)Stefani H.
(5)Rachel B.
I'd take the walk down across the train tracks to Tarpon or the bridge to the Downtowner, if I was looking for bar food. .
(2)Dia D.
(3)Alyse M.

Laud. - good enough.

this place is horrible!!!! stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!
(1)Kim A.
Visited Briny on St. Patrick's Day and was not disappointed! The place was obviously very busy but the bartenders were fast and the prices were great! Will definitely be going back next year!
(4)georgie g.

(3)Melody P.

(1)Julie N.
Come here for drinks and the view. Seriously, that's it. Don't order the mozzarella sticks thinking their a safe option (pssst... they're not) but they make a mean Mojito.
(2)Miguel F.
(3)Scott A.
Good place to sit and watch the boats go by on the patio, live music all the time,
(4)Mack B.
(3)Elizabeth R.
(3)Cheryl L.
I like the atmosphere here, it is very relaxed. The staff is always friendly. My favorite is the Fish & Chips.
(5)Jennifer K.
(4)Marcus D.
(3)Robbin S.
(4)Sunil R.
Went here since this seemed to be the only open restaurant in this part of the Riverfront. Listless wait staff and manager. Mediocre food. Nuff said. Next!
(2)Bill L.
(2)Chris G.
(4)Jim B.
Really dig the setting of this place. Man, the more I think about FLL, the more I miss it. After going to several places in MIA/FLL, I wish I found this place sooner. Cool decorations in this place, and nice view of the rvier.
(3)Review F.
(1)Denise R.
If I ever crave fish and chips I come here. Is the only thing I order, but my friend ordered a raw tuna dish that was great.
(3)Michael S.
(1)Sal G.
(2)Kev M.
(3)Olle P.
(3)Annie A.
I only ate the food because I was drunk. The end.
(1)Kirsten L.
(3)Michael C.

Groovie restaurant & bar on the Las Olas Riverfront.

Good environment, cold beer and tasty food. The server was fast and courteous. I will definitely be back with more time.

Just had a very good seared tuna and cold beer. While listening to live music. Good food and great entertainment for a Sunday afternoon.

Exactly what I expected. Mediocre everything - Service, food, drinks. Strictly a novelty, fun but nothing special.

We first saw this place from a river cruise. Next day, Saturday, went for lunch. They were not busy at all. Service was great and so was my burger. I could see it being a really fun place.

One of my favorite lunch spots. Service is always good and food is great!

Ugh.
